It was great getting to connect with my old friend Haley. As a bonus I got to meet her adorable family and her gorgeous new baby! There was a considerable amount of pudge on this baby that made her even more fun to photograph. Add to that her great big blue eyes and an amazing smile and I was in love. I’m going to take this moment to give you a dose of cuteness on this Friday morning and take a slight break from our regularly scheduled wedding posts. Check out this adorable family that I feel like I’ve been photographing since the beginning of time. So great to get to watch my brides and grooms have families (and watch those families multiply). Holy cow, a blog post! Yes, as always, I’m very behind with my posts. But being too busy to blog is a good thing. All winter I have been photographing the most amazing babies and families and I’m happy to finally get to start sharing some of them with you in the coming weeks. It was a pleasure to photograph one of my favorite little families recently. It’s been so much fun to watch these guys through the years. I enjoyed photographing their wedding in 2007, and honored to have had the pleasure of documenting their son throughout his first year. Now I have the privilege of capturing their latest addition.

Meet baby Z. She has big blue eyes and chubby cheeks just like her brother. What a beautiful family!

Kristen’s Chicago Maternity Session

Kristen was such an amazing trooper. Not only is she very near her due date, but she came out in the rain for this session. And she laid down on the ground. Did I mention this was in the rain? How brave!

Baby B was only three weeks old the first time I met her. And it is such a pleasure to watch her grow! We picked a beautiful day to photograph her and her family in the garden at the Art Institute. You probably remember baby A’s big brother from his session that I had the pleasure of doing when he was just a baby. Although he wasn’t quite as young as his little sis who is just a few days old in these pictures. I really love photographing sleepy little newborns who are still so tiny and snug. It was a pleasure to capture these images of her for her family. I of course had to sneak in a few of big brother A.

Just as I love getting to watch all these babies grow and change over the course of their lives, nothing makes me happier than getting to document these moments in the lives of couples I’ve been photographing since they were engaged. This is definitely the case with Tanner and Josh and their beautiful son. And boy is he ever a happy baby! We had a blast taking him out to Millennium Park to enjoy some fun in the sun. He’s for sure a baby on the move.

It’s been amazing for me to be a part of Evelyn and Bill’s life for so many years. I feel honored to have photographed their beautiful Michigan wedding, and recently Evelyn’s gorgeous maternity session. Now I’m excited to introduce to you their beautiful baby. Baby Asher is such a sweet vibrant little baby. I loved his expressions and how alert and strong he was! He did such a good job holding his head up and modeling various hats for us. He was also so easy to photograph. I think he only cried one time during the entire session. i'm so excited to watch photograph his growth over the next year. It's really so much fun to see my clients again and again
